Knowledge of thin wall bearing

Thin-wall bearings mainly refer to the compact, simplified and lightweight requirements of modern machinery for rotating mechanism design, and have the characteristics of small volume, light weight and small friction. Thin wall bearings are different from standard bearings. In thin-wall bearings, the section size in each series is designed to be a fixed value, and the section size in the same series is unchanged and does not increase with the increase of the internal size. Therefore, this series of thin-wall bearings is also known as equal section thin-wall bearings. By using the same series of thin-wall bearings, designers can standardize the same common parts and components.

Thin wall bearing with large aperture and small section can be replaced by a large diameter hollow shaft with a small diameter solid shaft. For example, air, water pipes and wires can be supplied through hollow shafts, which makes the design more concise. Thin-walled bearings save space, reduce weight, significantly reduce friction and provide good rotation accuracy. Without affecting the bearing performance and service life, the use of thin-wall bearings can reduce the overall size of the design and reduce the production cost.

Advantages of thin-wall bearings:

1. High precision. The precision level of thin-wall bearings is much higher than that of ordinary turntable bearings, and the radial runout and axial runout that can be achieved are also much higher than that of ordinary turntable bearings.

2. Good rigidity. Thin wall bearings are much more rigid than ordinary turntable bearings, and the running noise is less than cross roller bearings. Therefore, in a low noise working environment, it is better to choose cross roller turntable bearings as far as possible.

3. Simple structure

(1) Light weight, small space. Thin wall bearing structure is relatively simple. By arranging a row of cylindrical rollers in a single raceway, considerable bearing capacity and overturning moment can be obtained, while ordinary turntable bearings can only achieve the same effect by arranging three rows of cylindrical rollers in turn on three rows of raceways. In contrast, thin-wall bearings take up much less space and weigh much less than ordinary three-row roller turntable bearings.

(2) Low assembly difficulty. Compared with traditional bearings, the structure of thin-walled bearings is much simpler. By arranging cylindrical rolling elements in rows, considerable axial and radial bearing capacity and overturning moment can be obtained, and the structure is much simpler. The traditional bearings can achieve the same effect by arranging multiple sets of bearings in order, which brings great convenience to design, assembly and installation. And because the space occupied by the single-row raceway structure is much smaller than that of the traditional bearing, the assembly difficulty is also greatly reduced.
